A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Monday, September 9, 2013 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, La. for Robert Anthony "Tony" Stone, Sr., 62. Mr. Stone, a native of Chickamauga, Ga. and a long-time resident of Church Point, died at 4:30 P.M. Thursday, September 5 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La. Deacon Jim Cormier will conduct the service.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Ann Higginbotham Stone of Church Point; two sons, Robert Anthony Stone, Jr. and wife Natalie and Christopher Michael Stone of Church Point; two daughters, April Leigh Stone Thompson and husband Jodie and Elizabeth Alison Stone of Opelousas; a brother and sister, Michael Stone and Mellonie Allison of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; his mother-in-law, Mary Higginbotham of Church Point and two grandchildren, Evan Averett Stone and Gavin Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Harris and Elizabeth Josephine (Coker) Stone, Sr.; a brother, Joseph Harris Stone, Jr.; a sister, Betsee Davis and a nephew, Joseph Harris Stone, III.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 P.M. Monday until the time of the service. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 4:30 P.M. by Deacon Cormier.

A Marine Corps veteran of the Viet Nam Era, Mr. Stone will be honored with a Flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of the service.
