Church Point, LA: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM October 28, 2026 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard for Mrs. Rita P. Guidry, 89, who passed away at 6:50 PM Saturday, October 24, at her residence.

Rev. Raymond Ssbina, pastor of St. Edward Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the mass and will conduct the Burial Rite following in the St. Edward Catholic Cemetery.
Rita was the daughter of the late Edmond Prather and the former Marie Lejeune. A loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother; she found her greatest joy in the love of her family and the simple pleasures of life. She had a special talent for embroidery and quilting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her patience, creativity, and loving touch. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her garden and taking pride in keeping her yard beautifully maintained. Whether working with her hands or spending time with those she loved, she found happiness in life's simple blessings. Her love, kindness, and treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sara Babineaux Venable and Patsy Bergeron and husband Kevin all of Richard; her two sons, Steve Babineaux and wife Janice of Durald and Lawrence "Blackie" Babineaux and wife Faye of Richard; a daughter-in-law, Debra Babineaux of Richard; ten grandchildren, Chad, Anthony, Jake, Keshia, Regan, T-John, Jessica, Niki, Paige and Scott and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Preston Babineaux and Apton Guidry; her daughter, Connie Babineaux; her son, John Babineaux; her granddaughter, Haddie Babineaux and her son-in-law, Dean Venable

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 27 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM and continue from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass on Wednesday.
