Church Point, LA: It is with heavy hearts that his family announces the death of Mr. Rickey Dale Breaux, 58, who passed away Wednesday evening, October 13 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, LA. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA. Deacon Jimmie Loewer, of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Richard, LA, will conduct the funeral service.
Rickey, a resident of rural Acadia Parish near Mowata, LA, was the son of the late Emery Breaux and the former Mabel Arabie. Rickey, a farmer since he was very young, was a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved fishing and hunting. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carolyn Cortez Breaux of Mowata, LA; a daughter, Selena Cortez Breaux of "Pa-ta-sa", LA; a son, Jacob Cortez and wife Brandi of Iota, LA; three grandchildren, Kasey Fontenot of Eunice, Logan Cortez of Iota and Presleigh Matt of "Pa-ta-sa", a sister, Peggy Breaux of Church Point; three brothers, Michael Breaux and wife Mona of Mermentau, LA, Gene Breaux and wife Eva of Rayne, LA and Brian Breaux and wife Paula of Richard and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family requests that a celebration of his life be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Saturday, October 16 with the funeral service at 2:00 PM that day.
