Church Point, LA:     A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Point Church in Church Point, LA for Richard Leonard Guidry, 64, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA on Thursday, October 6. Bishop Ricki Pavlu will officiate at the service with Pastors Leroy Spence and Rick Hardwick assisting.

A lifelong resident of Church Point, Mr. Guidry was known for his humor and ability to "fix" anything. He was always outside working and piddling with something. He never met a stranger and quickly deemed anyone family. His joys came from family and friends and always making someone laugh. Even after his stroke, he was the laughter on any occasion. He worked for many years in the Oil & Gas Industry as well as for the railroad. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 33 years, Veronica; his sons: Holden and wife Wendy, Brandon, Chris and Spencer and wife Amanda; his grandchildren whom he adored: Hunter, Hailey, Zoie, Haven, and Savannah; a brother, Curley Guidry III and a sister, Melissa Higginbotham. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Curley "Doc" Guidry; 2 brothers, Kevin and Dwayne Guidry and a brother-in-law, Thomas Higginbotham. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Lourdes Hospital for their kindness and care during his stay with them.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Point Church from 9:00 AM Thursday until the time of the services. Pallbearers will be Chris, Cody and Brandon Guidry; Brad Higginbotham, Holden and Hunter Hare and Curley Guidry III. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N.
