Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, La. for Richard "Ricky" Dunn, 63. Mr. Dunn, a native of Mauldin, Mo. and long-time resident of Opelousas, La., died Tuesday evening, July 28 at his residence. Father Balachandra Miriyala will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Richard Dunn of Opelousas; two sons, David Daigle and wife Monica of Opelousas and Douglas Daigle of Richard; three daughters, Jennifer Catherine Dunn and Morgan Elizabeth Dunn-both of Missouri and Monica Kratzschmar and husband George of McComb, Miss.; two sisters, BaLinda Cone of Gretna, La. and Rebecca Dunn of Amite, La.; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Agnes O'Neil Dunn; two brothers, Herman and Billy Dunn and a sister, Diana Summers.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 30 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 6:30 P.M. Thursday by Deacon Jim Cormier.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam Era, He will be honored with a Flag presentation Ceremony at the time of services by the Honor Guard of American Legion Post 225 and VFW Post 9903.
