Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Church Point, La. for Raleigh James Thibodeaux, who died unexpectedly at his residence in Church Point at 6:00 P.M. Friday, January 18, 2008. Monsignor Jefferson DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum; Church Point.
Survivors include a son, Clay A, Thibodeaux and wife Melinda of Church Point; four daughters: Phyllis Ledet and husband Joe of Houma, La., Belinda Benton and husband Carl of Carencro, La., Sarah LeBlanc and husband Leonard of Church Point and Dottie Griffin and husband Nathan of Lafayette, La.; a brother, Stanley Thibodeaux of Hawkins, Tex.; 16 grand children and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Thibodeaux Cormier; his parents, Walter and "Gussie" Beaugh Thibodeaux and a brother, Aaron Thibodeaux.
Pall Bearers will be his grandsons: Raleigh Ledet, Jeremy Benton, Quentin Fruge, Andy Thibodeaux, Jason LeBlanc, Justin LeBlanc, Tyler LeBlanc, Ben Thibodeaux and Luke Benton.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Monday, January 21 and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday by Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc.
A World War II, U.S. Army Veteran, Mr. Thibodeaux was employed by Farmers State Bank and Trust of Church Point for 42 years; where he served as Teller, Loan Officer and Vice-President.
