Funeral Services will be held at 11:00A.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Percy Lavergne, 93. Mr. Lavergne, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died at 8:40 A.M. Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Acadia-St. Landry Nursing Home, Church Point. Father Gregory Chauvin will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.

Survivors include four nieces: Millie Hidalgo of Church Point, Elaine Lopez and Jo Ann Sonnier of Lafayette, La. and Claudette Bertrand of Oberlin, La. and a nephew, Vernon Lavergne of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Urban and Estelle Thibodeaux Lavergne; four brothers: Rutland, Terry and Larry Lavergne and Brother Roy Lavergne, S.J. and five sisters: Sister Mary Magdalene, Vernice Arceneaux, Sadie Lavergne Knecht and Margaret and Theresa Lavergne and a niece, Rose Angelle.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the services.

Deacon Jim Cormier will lead a recitation of the Rosary at 9:00 A.M.
