Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Cankton, La. for Paula Ann Richard, 51. Ms. Richard, a native of rural St. Landry Parish near Cankton, La. and currently a resident of Sunset, La., died Sunday night at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La. Monsignor Russell Harrington will conduct the services with entombment following in the St. John Berchmans Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include her mother, Rowena "Rosie" Richard of Cankton; her companion and best friend, Troy Laneaux of Sunset; two daughters, Rochelle Guidry of Lafayette, La. and April Guidry of Sulphur, La.; two brothers, Michael Richard of Lafayette and Patrick Richard of Cankton and her sisters, Connie Johnson and husband Barney of Sunset, Myra Johnson and husband Keith of Carencro, La. and Melinda Labbe of Cankton.
She was preceded in death by her father, C.A. Richard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 7 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday by Goldie Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers will be Troy Laneaux, Keith, Barney and Lance Johnson, Michael Richard and Rochelle Guidry. Patrick Richard will be an honorary pallbearer.
