Church Point, LA Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Paul Oscar Onebane, 54, who passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 15 at Oschner Foundation Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Msgr. Jefferson J. Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, will conduct the services with entombment following in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point. Paul, born and raised in Church Point, was a long-time resident of Metairie, LA. He was the son of the late Thomas Jacque Onebane, Sr. and the former Donna Marie Guidry. He is survived by his daughter, April Onebane of Austin, TX; his long-time companion, Genell Beck of New Orleans; five sisters, JoLynn O. Meche and husband James of Church Point, Renee O. Guidry and husband Chris of Church Point, Claudette Onebane and companion Jim Enloe of Lafayette, LA, Virginia O. Stutes and husband Pat of Lafayette and Donna Lee Dailey and husband Michael of Austin, TX; three brothers, Thomas J. Onebane, Jr. of Lafayette, Neal Onebane and wife Donna of Lafayette and Andrew Onebane of Rayne, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thad Onebane. Paul Oscar was a kind and loving father, uncle and brother. He never met a stranger and had the ability to make everyone he encountered feel special and important. Regardless of circumstances, he always had a positive outlook on everything and a smile on his face. A 1979 graduate of Notre Dame High School, he attended LSU and graduated in 1983 with a BA degree in Business. Paul worked for Vital Signs/GE Capital for 28 years where he received many sales accolades as a top salesman and also worked part-time, in sales, at Krispy Krunchy Foods. Paul Oscar loved the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints, was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, fishing and spending time at the camp with his family and friends. His friends and family were such a big part of his life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19 from 9:00 am until the time of services.
