Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 10, 2026 at St. John Catholic Chapel in Lewisburg, LA for Patsy R. Bourgeois, 88, The former Patsy Ruth Brasseaux. Mrs. Bourgeois, a native of Bristol, LA and resident of Opelousas, LA, died Wednesday morning, October 7 at her residence. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 8:00 AM until the time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 12:00 PM by Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of OLSH Church, who will also conduct the Services. Interment will immediately follow in the St. John Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Bourgeois of Opelousas; her daughter, Romona Kolder Sonnier and husband Lerlyn of Opelousas, LA; a granddaughter, Samantha Sonnier Anding and husband Paul of Lafayette, LA; her great-grandchildren, Waylon, Isla and Colt Anding and her extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Earl, Sr. and Ezola Simar Brasseaux; her brothers, Elgy and  Earl “June” Brasseaux, Jr. and a sister, Earline Brasseaux Guilbeaux.

A clerk in a retail grocery for a number of years; Mrs. Bourgeois was a devout and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed French music, dancing, family get-togethers, cooking and flowers. Truly loved, she will be missed by her extended family and all who knew her.
