Church Point, LA: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Patsy Ann Olivier, 76, who passed away at 9:10 AM on Monday, August 27 at her residence. Msgr. Jefferson J. Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Hwy 35. Patsy, a resident of Church Point, was the daughter of the late Jacques Benoit and the former Leola Sattler. She was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served her church in many capacities, including Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher, a religious coordinator and she worked in the rectory as well. Mrs. Olivier was a 7th and 8th grade Louisiana History teacher for 20+ years at Church Point Middle School and a substitute teacher when needed at Our Mother of Peace Elementary. Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Paula Walters and husband Glenn of Scott, LA and Alisa Olivier of Church Point; one son, Gary Olivier and wife Glenna of Scott; seven grandchildren, Joshua Olivier, Clint Walters, Jeremy Walters, Connor Walters, Trevor Travis, Katie Olivier and Zachary Olivier; six great grandchildren, Gage Walters, Cara Walters, Trinity Travis, Zoe' Travis, Carter Thibodeaux and Lane Thibodeaux; two sisters, Janice Steward of Church Point and Jackie Cormier of Church Point and four brothers, Terry Benoit of Warner Robins, GA, John Benoit of Addis, LA, Winston Benoit of Sulphur, LA and Steven Benoit of Livingston, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lurlin Olivier and her parents and two sisters, Virginia Glass and Ellen Prejean. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 28 from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
