Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Patsy Kirkpatrick, 75, the former Patsy Ella Thibodeaux. Mrs. Kirkpatrick, a native and long-time resident of rural Acadia Parish near Church Point, died at 3:15 A.M. Thursday, November 1 at her residence. Survivors include her sons: Mike Kirkpatrick and wife Genny, Joe Kirkpatrick and wife Marlinda, Dennis Kirkpatrick and Casey Kirkpatrick and wife Leigh Ann-all of Church Point; her daughter, Peggy Kirkpatrick and partner Butch Cormier of Church Point; a brother, Archie Thibodeaux and wife Wilma of Lafayette, La.; her sisters, "Tatee" Billeaudeau Doucet of Opelousas, La. and Judy Hebert and husband Patrick of Branch; a sister-in-law, Delores Thibodeaux of Rayne, La.; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren (one on the way).
She was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Kirkpatrick; her parents, Alphonse and Mary Pearl (Richard) Thibodeaux and brothers, Carol, Kirney and John M. Thibodeaux.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Friday, November 2 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday by Father Ugwu.
Pallbearers will be Mike, Joel, Dennis, Casey and Michael Kirkpatrick and Butch Cormier. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon, Rusty, Kyle, Clint, Stephen K., Toby and Jacob Kirkpatrick.
The family wishes to thank the caring staffs of the ninth floor of Lafayette General Hospital and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care.
"Mrs. Patsy Kirkpatrick was loved by so many. Her home and heart were always welcomed to everyone. She was known for her patience, positive outlook, spontaneous nature, and a great sense of humor. She was the kind of person that whistled while she worked. According to her, God and family were always number one. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, cooking and was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling far and near. Mrs. Patsy loved life and absolutely lived it to the fullest."
