A Funeral Service for Mr. Patrick Floyd Richard, 79, was celebrated on November 20, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in Guidry Funeral Home.
Mr. Richard passed away on Monday, November 18 at Our Lady of Lourdes.
A native and life-long resident of Church Point, he was a retired truck driver and enjoyed gardening, cooking and cajun music.
He was an accomplished musician of cajun music for several years, and was recently inducted into the "Louisiana Living legends" in June, 2013.
Most of all, he loved his family, cooking for them, and having a good time.
He was the godfather of our little cajun saint Charlene Richard, and always had her prayer cloth pinned to his pillowcase, praying to her everyday.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Audrey LeJeune Richard, three daughters, Cheryl Andrepont and husband, Terry, Rebecca Ann Richard, and Paula Higginbotham and husband Cecil, a grandson, Shane Andrepont and wife Jenny, and a granddaughter Shelley Hudson and husband Weldon, five great-grandchildren, Christian Pitre, Ethan Pitre, Noah Pitre, Leia Andrepont and Wyatt Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his father Edmond Richard, his mother Marie Olivier Richard, four brothers, John, Elvin, Melvin and Wilray, two sisters, Eldine and Odile and his beloved dog "Zeb".
