Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Patricia "Pat" Andrus,69, the former Patricia Ann Smith. Mrs. Andrus, a native and life-long resident of rural Acadia Parish near Church Point, died early Sunday morning, May 4 at her residence. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Elizabeth Memorial Cemetery on Highway 365 northwest of Branch, La.
Survivors include her husband, Roland "Swillo" Andrus of Church Point; her daughters, Dayna LaFleur and husband Clark of Eunice, La. and Holly McFarlain and husband George of Lafayette, La.; three sons: Jeff Andrus of Church Point and Jade Andrus and wife Pam and Brad Andrus-all of Lafayette; ten grandchildren: Austin, Olivia, Ross, Gibson and Mary Beth LaFleur; Parker and Andrew Andrus; Saige, Christian, and Hayes McFarlain and a sister, Delores Jeanne Burch and husband Troy of New Braunfels, Tex.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Perry Smith, Sr. and Beatrice Richard Smith and a brother, Joseph Perry Smith, Jr.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Monday, May 5 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday by Deacon Bryne Winn. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Brad and Jade Andrus; George McFarlain; Clark, Austin, Ross and Gibson LaFleur and Danny Senegal. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Andrus and Parker Andrus. Giftbearers will be Christian, Hayes and Saige McFarlain and Mary Beth and Olivia LaFleur.
"Mrs. Andrus was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted friend. She lived every day to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, spending time at the Lake House with her husband, children and grandchildren and nurturing her beautiful flowers and plants. She will be sadly missed by all."
