A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Pansy R. Savoie, 85, who passed away at 4:00 am on Monday, May 1 at Opelousas General Medical Center in Opelousas, LA. Msgr. Jefferson J. Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in St. John Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Mrs. Savoie was the daughter of the late Edmond Richard and the former Emily Beaugh. She is survived by two sons, Dwayne Savoie and wife JoAnn and Troy Savoie-all of Opelousas; one grandson, Dane Savoie of Manhattan, KS; two step grandchildren, Jarret Boss and Michelle Boss, both of Opelousas; three great grandchildren, Sydney, Drew and Jackson Savoie-all of Manhattan, KS; two step great grandchildren, Charleigh Kate and Weston Boss-both of Opelousas, and one brother, Leroy Richard of Lafayette, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband J.C. Savoie; one daughter, Donna Soileau; two grandchildren, Chance and Whitney Hegwood; four sisters, Vivian Vautrot, Irene Mitchell, Lou Richard and Rita Faul and one brother, Earl Richard. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Joann Boss and the staff at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas for their loving and attentive care for Mrs. Savoie. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 9:00 am until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 2:30 pm on Wednesday prior to the funeral mass.
