Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 16, 2012 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, La. for Odile R. Cormier, 91, the former Odile Richard. Mrs. Cormier, a native and long-time resident of Church Point and Richard and currently a resident of Lafayette, La., died at 9:15 P.M. Thursday, April 12 at Lafayette General Medical Center; Lafayette, La. Father Wayne Duet will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include a son, Lionel and wife Anna Jean M. Cormier of Cankton, La.; a son-in-law, William "Chuck" DeMahy of Lafayette; her grandchildren: Tyson DeMahy, Paulette Thibodeaux, Dwayne Cormier and Sheila C. Guidry; her sisters: Amy R. Doucet and Lelia R. Thibodeaux of Eunice, La. and Ruby R. Daigle and husband Wilson and Bessie R. Gaudet of Richard; a brother, Arthur "A.B." Richard and wife Norma of Lafayette (formerly of Eunice) and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lannie Cormier; her parents, Constant "Brist" and Ovena M. Richard; a son, James Leland Cormier; two daughters, Maudry C. Thibodeaux and Sheryl C. DeMahy; two brothers, Leo and Eurick Richard and a sister, Alice R. Menard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 15 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday by Deacon Bryne Winn.

Mrs. Cormier was an Avon Representative in the Richard-Church Point area for many years.
