Obituary

Church Point, LA: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mrs. Norma Jean Castille Guidry, 89, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 8, at 3:45 PM in the Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home. Msgr. Jefferson Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will take place in Bellevue Cemetery.
Norma, an administrative assistant with the St. Landry Parish School Board for many years and a life-long resident of Church Point, was the daughter of the late Alfred Beaugh and the former Amanda Nicholson. Though she suffered from Alzheimer's, her strong Catholic Faith was evident while she remembered and prayed the prayers that she knew throughout her life.
She is survived by two daughters, Marcie Castille Lejeune and husband Jim of Lafayette, LA and Sue Castille Fontenot and husband Greg of Branch, LA; one son, Al Castille and wife Carolyn of Church Point; seven grandchildren, Cory Lejeune and wife Holly, Eric Lejeune and wife Erin, Jeff Fontenot and wife Amanda, Heather Babineaux and husband Leighton, Emily Dilly and husband Nick, Jacob Castille and wife Johanna and Kristi Elliott and husband Quinton and 10 great grandchildren, Seth Fuselier, Kohen and Hudson Lejeune, Hunter, Grant and Addison Fontenot, Ashton and Ahnaleigh Babineaux, Harper Dilly and Plum Castille. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Dudley Castille, the father of her children; her second husband, Hubert Guidry and one sister, Shirley Beaugh Lavergne.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heart of Hospice, Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home and her sitters, Juanita Daigle, Janet Bundick and Anna Belle Brasseaux. Pallbearers will be Cory and Eric LeJeune, Jeff Fontenot, Jacob Castille, Leighton Babineaux and Quinton Elliott. Honorary pallbearers will be Iggie and Armand Castille. The reader will be a niece, Lorna Lavergne and gift bearers will be her three granddaughters, Heather Babineaux, Emily Dilly and Kristi Elliott.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Thursday, May 10 from 8:30 AM until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 12:45 PM on Thursday before leaving to go to church. Personal condolences may be sent to the Guidry family at www.guidryfuneralhome.com. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N.
