Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 28, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Church Point for Nicholas "Nick" Kidder, 17. Nick, a native and resident of Church Point, died at 10:45 P.M. Saturday, June 26 in an automobile accident in rural Acadia Parish. Father Randy Moreau will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.

Survivors include his parents, Jeffery and Antoinette Cary Kidder of Church Point; his maternal grandparents, Anthony "J.U." and Teasie Richard Cary of Church Point and two brothers, Michael Jeffery and Matthew Paul Kidder of Church Point.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Russell J. and Pearl Gary Kidder.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 P.M. until11:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 27 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday by Father Moreau. Pallbearers will be Ricky and Michael Kidder, Jared Meaux, Bubba Cary, Donovan Darbonne and Joe Nunez.

A senior at Church Point High School where he was a three-year football and two-year baseball player, Nick was also named "Musician of the Year" as first-chair trumpet in the Church Point Middle School Band.
