Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 7, 2013 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Newbun Richard, 78. Mr. Richard, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 11:20 P.M. Friday, January 4 at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas, La. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie Smith Richard of Church Point; four sons: Ray Allen Richard and wife Brenda and Todd Mark Richard and wife Kay-all of Church Point and Randy Richard and Chris Richard and wife Daphne-all of Houston, Tex.; a brother, Nelson Richard and wife Velma of Cankton, La.; a sister, Delores LeBouef and husband Floyd of Church Point; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son Timmy "Crip" Richard; a grandson, Chaise Richard and his parents, Isaac and Ada (Leger) Richard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 12:00 Noon until 10:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 6 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday by Monsignor DeBlanc.
