A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, La. for Nellie B. Olivier, 49, the former Nellie Burleigh. Mrs. Olivier, a life-time resident of Church Point, died at 9:50 P.M. Tuesday, July 8 at her residence. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include her mother, Anne R. Burleigh of Church Point; her husband, Darby Olivier of Church Point; a Godchild who she helped raise and thought of as her son, Cody Dwyer of Church Point; four sisters: Mary B. Jagneaux and partner Chaz Parson, Adele Burleigh and partner Merlin McBride and Betty B. Lejeune-all of Church Point-and Lucy B. Guidry and husband Chuck of Scott, La.; a brother, Jerry Burleigh of Church Point and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Burleigh, Sr. and a brother, Edward Burleigh, Jr.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:30 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 2:30 P.M. by Monsignor DeBlanc.
