Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Neldine David,79, the former Mary Neldine Venable. Mrs. David, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died at 8:40 P.M. Saturday, August 11 at her residence. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include four sons: Kenneth David and wife Peggy and Donald David and wife Tina of Lafayette, La., Carl David and wife Jeanette of Church Point and Derwin David and wife Michelle of Rayne, La.; a daughter, Lisa Marks and husband Lionel of Church Point; a sister, Mary Lee Doucet of Church Point; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John L.P. David; her parents, Thomas and Lilly (Jagneaux) Venable; a brother, Joseph Venable and a sister, Mary Ann Guidry.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Monday, August 13 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday by the family.

"Mrs. Neldine" was a home-based daycare provider for over thirty years.

The family asks that donations in her memory be made to St. Jude Research Hospital or Heart Of Hospice.
