Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard, LA for Nelda Jane Dunn, 80, the former Nelda Jane Richard. Mrs. Dunn, a native of Church Point, LA and resident of Opelousas, LA, died Monday morning, July 17 at Heritage Manor NH in Opelousas. Father Korey LaVergne will conduct the services with interment following in the St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include her daughter, Monica Kratzschmar and husband George; her sons, David and Douglas Daigle; her grandchildren: Stephanie Neilsen, Robert Kratzschmar, Anthony and Jacob Daigle and a great-grandchild, Ethan Neilsen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reme and Tisbelle Doucet Richard; her husband, Richard Dunn; a sister, Mary Ann Boulfer and her brothers, Lerlin, Ira and John Richard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 8:00 AM Tuesday until the time of services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 10:30 AM by Deacon David Menard. Pallbearers will be Anthony Daigle, Robert Kratzschmar, Bradley Neilsen and Greg Richard. A loving and loyal wife, mother, grandparent and friend, Mrs.  Dunn enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing and socializing with friends and loved animals. Truly loved, she will be missed.
