Church Point, LA Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 27, 2017 at The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire, LA for Morgice T. Richard, 76, the former Morgice Thibodeaux. Mrs. Richard, a long-time resident of rural Acadia Parish near Mire, died Tuesday night, October 24 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Monsignor Russell Harrington will conduct the services with interment following in the cemetery adjacent to the church.

Survivors include four sons, Ricky Richard and wife Bobbie of Church Point; Frank Richard and wife Wendy of Carencro, LA and Wayne Richard and wife Josette and Thomas Richard-all of Mire; two daughters, Trish Lopez and husband Ronald of Mire and Ramona Venable and husband Jeff of Lafayette; a sister, Lucy Broussard and husband Ronald of Lafayette; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Merrick Richard; her parents, Adiol and Eve Credeur Thibodeaux; two sisters, Anna Richard and Audrey Guidry and an infant brother, Adiol Francis Thibodeaux.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 26 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Thursday by Deacon Paul Matte.

Mrs. Richard was truly loved by family and friends.
