Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Minnie Young, 101, the former Minnie Doucet. Mrs. Young, a native of rural St. Landry Parish and resident of Eunice, La., died at 1:27 A.M. Tuesday, October 27 at Acadian Medical Center, Eunice. Father Gregory Chauvin will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery; Highway 35, Church Point.

Survivors include a son, Floyd Young and wife Frances of Eunice; two daughters, Myra Laughlin and husband Bill of Richard, La. and Dianna Johnson and husband Jim of College Station, Texas; a sister, Anna Mae Taylor of Lafayette, La.; ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Young; a son, Carl Young and a daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Young.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 28 and continue from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Thursday.

A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:45 P.M. Wednesday by Deacon Bryne Winn.

Mrs. Young was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a community prayer group for many years.
