Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 29, 2022 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Milton "Fra" Dugas, 87. Mr. Dugas, a lifetime resident of rural St. Landry Parish near Sunset, LA, passed away Tuesday morning, April 26 at his residence. Rev. Father "Père" Rozas, parochial vicar of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and interment will be in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the church.

He is survived by his wife, Waver Venable Dugas of Sunset; a son, Don Dugas and wife Karen of Sunset; his daughters, Vickie Richard of Sunset and Caren Doucet and husband Darryl of Houston, TX; his sisters, Letha Credeur of Opelousas, LA and Alice Dutsch and husband Jimmy of Plaquemine, LA; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Anna Cormier Dugas; two sisters, a brother-in-law and a son-in-law, Paul Williams.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 8:30 PM on Thursday, April 28 and continue from 9:00 AM Friday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Thursday by Deacon Byrne Winn.  Pallbearers will be Don Dugas, Darryl Doucet, Adrian Crumpton, Justin Kidder and Justin and Drifter Venable. Honorary pallbearers will be Randel Venable, Randy Paul Bordelon and David Briggs. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Dugas worked as an electrician for Richoux Electric, Floyd Credeur Electric, Adraste Prejean Electric and Dugas Electric for more than thirty-six years. Truly loved, he will be missed by all who knew him. He will be honored with a Flag presentation Ceremony at the time of services. The family wishes to thank Lynelle, Heidi, Barrie, Laquanta and Elaine of Audubon Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mr. Dugas and to them. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N.
