Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May29, 2014 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, La. for Michael "Tee" Melancon, 64. Mr. Melancon, a native and long-time resident of rural St. Landry Parish near Church Point, died Tuesday morning, May 27 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette, La. Dr. Patrick Melancon will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the church in Church Point.

Survivors include his father, Frank Melancon, Sr. currently of Jennings, La.; a daughter, Christine Castille of Brentwood, Mo.; two sons, Michael Melancon, Jr. of Santa Fe, N.M. and Brendon Lopez of Lafayette; a grandson, Jordy Guidry of Brentwood, Mo.; a sister, Mary Linda Melancon of Alto, N.M.; and two brothers, Timothy Moise Melancon of Sunset, La. and Frank Melancon, Jr. of Church Point.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Lou Knot Melancon; a sister, Geraldine Melancon Bearb and three brothers, Earl, Sr., John Terry and James Paul Melancon.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 28 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services.
