Church Point, La.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Mattie D. Sonnier,72. Ms. Sonnier, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died at 9:58 A.M. Monday, December 8 at Doctors' Hospital; Opelousas, La. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum, Church Point.
Survivors include four sisters: Marie Louise Sonnier of Church Point; Clara Darbonne of Washington, La., Sister Ethel Sonnier of New Blaine, Arkansas and Betty Sparks of Fayetteville, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Isabell Thibodeaux Sonnier, two brothers, Allen and Wilber Sonnier and two sisters, Rose Williams and Leora Oakley.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 10 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday by Monsignor De Blanc.
