Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church,in Church Point, La. for Matthew Ian Cormier, 22. Matthew died at 4:55 P.M. Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette. He was a native and life-long resident of Church Point. Father Mitch Guidry will conduct the services with interment following in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery ( Highway 35) Church Point, La.

Survivors include his parents, Barry and Yvonne Richard Cormier, Church Point ; a sister, Stephanie Cormier of Church Point; his maternal grandparents, Culand and Agnes Richard and his paternal grandparents, Elton "Bee" and Drucilla David Cormier all of Church Point; special friends, Ashley Comeaux and Belton "Keco" Richard III of Church Point. He is also survived by his "Nanny" Deidre Buller and his "Parain" Kenny Robinson; his aunts, Bonnie Fontenot, Susie Robinson and Germaine Robinson; uncles, Randy Buller, Drew Fontenot and Steve Robinson and cousins Jeremy, Eric, Tanner, Paige, Gabby, Alex, Stevie and Jack and numerous other family members and friends.
Matthew was bass guitar player for "Travis Matte and the Zydeco Kingpins".
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM Tuesday and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday by Father Mitch Guidry.
