Church Point, LA:     A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Cankton, LA for Maryleen C. Harrison, 85, the former Maryleen Comeaux. Mrs. Harrison, a native and long-time resident of rural St. Landry Parish near Bosco, LA, died Sunday morning, October 9 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Deacon Bryne Winn will conduct the service with entombment following in the St. John Berchmans Mausoleum adjacent to the church.

Survivors include her sons, Marcus Lavergne and wife Janelle of Grand Coteau, LA, Jeffrey Lavergne and wife Ann of Mire, LA, Todd Lavergne of Youngsville, LA and Bert Lavergne and wife Jessica of Bosco; a daughter, Denise Lavergne of Mire; a sister, Rowena Richard of Bosco; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Xavier and Delmae Savoie Comeaux; "the father of her children", Norman Lavergne; her second husband, Freddie Harrison and a sister, JoAnn Cormier.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the time of the services on Wednesday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 1:00 PM Wednesday by Deacon Winn. Pallbearers will be Marcus, Jeffrey, Todd, Bert, Joshua and Brandon Lavergne. Employed as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney for many years, Mrs. Harrison was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved "family time", especially cooking for the family on Sundays.
