Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 24, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mary Hilda Comeaux, 87, the former Mary Hilda Morvant. Mrs. Comeaux, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Friday evening, December 21 at Rayne Guest Home in Rayne, La. Father Stephen Ugwu will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Batten and husband Bobby of Rayne; a sister, Jackie Ackerman and husband Robert of Port Arthur, Tex.; a daughter-in-law, Jenny Comeaux of Lafayette, La.; two sisters-in-law, Elda Richard and Betty Richard of Nederland, Tex.; her grandchildren: Paula Faires and husband Charles of Lafayette, Monica Batten and companion Angie Clause of Church Point and Mitchell Batten and wife Shelley of Rayne and her great-grandchildren: Ethan, Robyn and Lindsey Batten of Rayne and Charles, Riley and Nicholas Clause of Church Point.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Berton Comeaux; her parents, Jacques and Alicia (Doucet) Morvant; a son, James Nolan Comeaux; a daughter, Brenda Morris; four brothers: Hilton, Delton, Robert and Wallace Morvant; a sister, Della Morvant and two stepbrothers, John and Lee Richard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 23 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday by Father Ugwu.
