Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday October 17. 2007 at St. Edward Catholic Church; Richard, La. for Mrs. Elvin Richard, the former Mary Alice Matte, who died at 3:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at her residence. She was a native of Mermentau, La. Father Dan Edwards will conduct the services and interment will be in the St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery; Richard, La. .

Survivors include three sons: John Dale Richard and wife Lorita and Onezime Lonnie Richard and wife Elaine both of Richard, La. and Dean Alvin Richard of Church Point, La.; five daughters: Anna Leleux and husband Rod and Earline Doucet and husband Reggie- all of Church Point, La.; Theresa Olivier and husband Damon of Branch, La. and Elaine Carrier and husband Mark and Angela Middlebrooks and husband Wendell- all of Richard, La.; a half-brother, Paul Bourgeois, of Jennings, La.; 30 grandchildren and 44 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Richard; a daughter, Charlene Richard and a son, Gene Richard.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday and continue without interruption until time of services on Wednesday.
Mrs. Richard was a Lay member of the Carmelite Order of St. Joseph; Rayne, La.
Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. by Fr. Dan Edwards.
