Church Point          Funeral services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mark Roy Briscoe, 51, who passed away on Thursday, April 6. Fr. Mark Thibodeaux will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in Msgr. C.A. Bienvenu Cemetery on the Lawtell Hwy.
Mark, a lifelong resident of Church Point, was the son of Mr. Joseph Lincoln 'Whitey' Briscoe and the former Louise Barousse. He is survived by one daughter that he called 'Little Princess', Therese Briscoe of Church Point; one son, Kane Briscoe of Church Point; his parents, Whitey and Louise Briscoe of Church Point; his wife, Melissa Cormier Briscoe of Church Point; two sisters, Nancy Thibodeaux and husband Greg of Church Point and Jenny Lasseigne and husband Joey of Parks, LA; four brothers, Jim Briscoe and wife Tammy of Madisonville, LA, Mitchell Briscoe and wife April of Richard, LA, Nick Briscoe and wife Tonya of Church Point and Neal Briscoe and wife Kim of Welsh, LA and his in-laws, Daniel and Judy Cormier of Church Point. Mark was an avid hunter who loved to hunt turtles and frogs. Cooking was a favorite past time of his and he was great at it. He was a self-employed farrier and was known by many as the best around. On top of all things, Mark loved his children with all of his heart. A loving son and father, he will truly be missed by all who knew him. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday, April 9 at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and continue on Monday from 8:00 am until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home Sunday evening at 7:00 pm.
