Church Point, LA:      A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Ruth Fruge, 85, who passed away at 12:00 AM Sunday, January 3 at her residence. Rev. Patrick Broussard, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and entombment will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Ruth, a life-long resident of Church Point, was the daughter of Leo Sonnier and the former Lorena Richard. Devoted to her family, she loved to crochet and bake for them. She is survived by one daughter, Janise Fruge Dupre and husband Bill of Kissimmee, FL; three sons, Michael Fruge and wife Judy of Church Point, Mitchell Fruge and wife Arleen of Church Point and Tim Fruge of Church Point; seven grandchildren: Quentin, Heather, Andy, Elliot, Kimberly, Madisyn and Gavyn; five great-grandchildren: Jade, Camden, Adley, Hope and Eve and two sisters, Lorita Fontenot of Church Point and Lucille Gamble of England. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom Fruge and two sisters, Merlis Fruge and Gertie Barousse.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6 from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. The family requests that masks be worn at the services.
