Church Point, LA:     Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Madgeline R. Lyons, 89, the former Madgeline Richard. Mrs. Lyons, a native of Lawtell, LA and long-time resident of Church Point, died Saturday morning, October 14 at Landmark of Rayne Nursing Home. Fr. Michael Vidrine will conduct the services with entombment following in the OLSH Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include her daughters: Jeanette Lyons Leger and husband Don of Lafayette, LA, Jacqueline "Jackie" Granger and husband John of Lacassine, LA and Mary Lyons and Bonnie Lyons Daigle and husband John-all of Church Point; her sons: Robert "Bobby" Lyons and wife Becky of Carlyss, LA, Roland Lyons and wife Carla of Prairieville, LA and Wayne Lyons and wife Elizabeth, Terry "Chuck" Lyons and wife Sharron and Anthony "Tony" Lyons-all of Church Point; a sister, Clara Richard Young of Carencro, LA; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Berlin Lyons and her parents, Joseph Perry and Delphine Boudreaux Richard.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday October 17 and continue from 8:00 AM Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 PM Tuesday by Deacon Byrne Winn. Mrs. Lyons, a cook at Church Point Wholesale for a number of years, was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who raised 9 children after her husband's death in 1976.
