Church Point, La. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Lucy Ann Richard, 56, a native and long-time resident of Church Point. Ms. Richard died at 5:00 P.M. Friday, January 13 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, La. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on highway 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include three brothers, Anthony and Francis Richard of Church Point and Robert Richard and wife Joyce of Scott, La.; a brother-in-law, Charles Arabie; three nieces, Devan Arabie, Nikki Trahan and Trish Royer and husband Dobie; five great-nieces and three great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Ray and Dewilda (Higginbotham) Richard; one sister, Patricia R. Arabie and a brother, Clinton Richard.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 15 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday by Monsignor DeBlanc.
Ms. Richard was a former employee of the Acadia-St. Landry Hospital and Acadia- St. Landry Guest Home.
