Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Lubert James "Jimmy" Guidry, 59. Mr. Guidry, a native of Church Point and resident of Duson, LA, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 28 at University Hospital and Clinics in Lafayette, LA. Rev. Father Brian Harrington, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and interment will be in the cemetery of the Assumption Catholic Church in Mire, LA.

He is survived by his wife Amanda Benoit Guidry of Duson; his children: Lubert James Guidry II, Hunter Lee Charles Guidry and Holly Renée Guidry-all of Duson; his brothers, Luther Lane Guidry and wife Carol of Duson and Danny Guidry of Indian Bayou, LA; a sister, Evelyn Marie Bourque and husband Lursie of Indian Bayou and his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Tilman Guidry, Sr. and Audry Thibodeaux Guidry; two brothers, Terry Guidry and Joseph Tilman Guidry, Jr. and a Godchild, Scotty Lane Guidry.

The family requests that visiting hours continue uninterrupted at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 31 until the time of services on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Tuesday by family members Fred and Mario Benoit.

A hard-working, family-oriented, fun-loving husband and father; Mr. Guidry was a truck driver for Republic National Distribution Company for a number of years. He will truly be missed. Guidry Funeral Home, 219 N. Broadway St., Church Point, LA is in charge of final arrangements.
