Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Louis "Chick" Young, 65. Mr. Young, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 9 at Opelousas General Hospital; Opelousas, La. Father Gregory Chauvin will conduct the services with interment following in the Young Cemetery, Church Point.

Survivors include his wife, Corliss Godeaux Young of Church Point; a son, Greg Young and fiance Mandy of Church Point; two daughters, Nikki Young and SamanthaYoung and fiance Juan Rodriguez- all of Church Point. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Austin "A.J.: Pitre, Zachary Young, Ana and Juan Thomas Rodriguez, Kade Mouton and Carlee Broussard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Zora Barousse Young and a brother, Edward "Rolo" Young.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November10 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday by Father Chauvin.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War, Mr. Young was a Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 2504, a member of American Legion Post 225, a member of the Church Point Volunteer Firemen and a Eucharistic Minister and Usher at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
