Church Point, LA :   Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA, for Mr. Louis "Winston" Stroderd, 79, who passed away at 11:56 PM Tuesday, January 7, at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Lafayette, LA. Deacon Byrne Winn will conduct the Memorial Services.

Winston, a resident of Broussard, LA, was the son of the late Joseph Stroderd and the former Mary Caswell. He was the owner of Stroderd's Lawn Mower Center on Verot School Road in Lafayette for nearly 30 years and an award-winning car salesman for Arceneaux Ford in New Iberia and Courtesy Motors in Lafayette. His hobbies included woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly Seilhan Stroderd of Broussard; one son, David Craig Stroderd and wife Janine of Broussard; his daughter-in-law, Angie Babineaux Stroderd of Lafayette, LA; five grandchildren, Joshua Stroderd and fiancé Rachel Allen of Maurice, LA, Samantha Stroderd of Lafayette, Jordan Sigur and husband Tyler of Strawberry, AR, Spencer Stroderd and wife Mackenzie of Branch, LA and Ethan Stroderd and wife Casandra of Maurice, LA; eight great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Annelise, Boone, Amelia, Rori, Ezekial Louis, Holden and Oaklynn; two sisters, Barbara Hoffpauir and husband John of Lafayette and Ruth Pousson and husband Ronald of Egan, LA; two brothers, Joe Stroderd of Basile, LA and Henry Stroderd and wife Susie of Alexandria; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Stroderd of Baton Rouge and Debbie Boles and husband Tim of Belle Chase, LA; his sister-in-law, Catherine Seilhan Lejeune of Lafayette and his brother-in-law, Lee Seilhan of Rayne. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daimon Stroderd; one sister and five brothers.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM. A Eulogy will be presented in the funeral home at 12:30 PM on Saturday. The family would like to honor his memory by sharing stories of the jokester we all knew and loved. If you have a funny story about how he pranked you or how you pranked him, please come ready to share. It'll be a great way to remember him and spread some laughter.
