Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 10, 2024 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Lou Wilda Andrus, 86, the former Lou Wilda Sibille. Mrs. Andrus, a native of Sunset, LA and resident of Church Point, died Saturday morning, June 8 at her residence. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with Entombment immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35.
Survivors include her children: Kenneth R. Venable, Kathryn Venable Boudreaux (Wade), Janet Venable DuPré (Fred), Julie Venable Wingate (Eric) and Martin J. Venable (April); her grandchildren: Eric and Amy Boudreaux, Sarah B. Sack, Sydney D. Thompson, Shelby DuPré Senter, James, Elliot and Cooper Wingate and Miles and Max Venable; her great-grandchildren: Meredith and Cecile Boudreaux; Ruby, Rosie, Henry, John Luke and Charlotte Wingate and Louis and Audrey Sack and her siblings: Winfred, Dennis, Darrell and Paul Sibille. She was preceded in death by her parents; her deceased siblings: Roy, Carlys, Fred, Stanley, Gordon, Irwin, Madeline and Lilburn Sibille and her husbands: Martin "Blanc" Venable, Robert LeBas and Marion Andrus.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, June 9 and continue from 9:00 AM Monday until time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Sunday by Deacon Doug Wimberly.
Born on October 25, 1937 to Pauline and Leo Sibille, Mrs. Andrus was raised in Sunset and graduated from Sunset High School and T.H. Harris as an LPN. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wonderful faithful person; she had a long career in nursing and enjoyed caring for others. A member of the Catholic Daughters and a devoted parishioner of OLSH Church, Mrs. Andrus never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Donations in her name may be made to Hospice of Acadiana and the National Right to Life Committee. Arrangements are being handled by Guidry Funeral Home, Inc.; 219 N. Broadway, Church Point, LA.
