Church Point, LA:           Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Mrs. Loretta B. Hursey, 83, who passed away at 11:35 PM Friday, September 16 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette, LA. Deacon Byrne Winn will conduct the funeral services and burial will take place in the St. John Cemetery adjacent to the chapel in Lewisburg, LA.

Loretta, a resident of Opelousas, Louisiana was the daughter of the late Verdie Babineaux and the former Louisa  Hanks. She is survived by two daughters, Cyndi Aull and husband Bryan of Sunset, LA and Connie Hudson and husband Jay of Opelousas; four grandchildren: Desirea Marion of Seattle, WA, Shayne Hursey of Youngsville, LA, Amanda Deckard of Carencro, LA and James Hudson, Jr. of Duson, LA ; seven great grandchildren: Steven Charles Hursey, Paris Diamond Hursey, Aurora Sabra Hursey, Riley Hudson, Zack Hudson, James Hudson, III and Sophie Deckard; one brother, Curby Babineaux; one daughter-in-law, Vicki Lynn Hursey and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence "Slim" Hursey; one son, Charles Steven Hursey; one sister, Beverly Humphries: one brother, Percy Babineaux and a sister-in-law, Ruth Babineaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Monday, September 19 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the time of funeral services.
