Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the St. John Catholic Chapel in Lewisburg, La. for L.J. "Lujack" McMillan,78, who died Tuesday, July 23 at his residence in rural St. Landry Parish near Lewisburg. He was a native and life-long resident of the Parish. Father Stephen Ugwu will conduct the services with interment following in the St. John Cemetery adjacent to the Chapel.
Survivors include his companion, Elsie Kidder of Cecilia, La.; three brothers, Roger Mcmillan of Pitreville, La., Ray McMillan of Lewisburg and Tommy McMillan and wife Judy of Opelousas, La.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. John (Agatha) McMillan of Lake Charles, La. and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen (Beaugh) McMillan; a brother, John McMillan; a sister, Mary McMillan and an infant sister, Dot McMillan.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 24 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday by Father Ugwu.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. McMillan retired after some twenty-two years of service with the Louisiana Department of Agriculture (ASCS). He was a truck farmer after retirement.
