Church Point, LA: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Linda Josephine Lafleur, 70, who passed away at 8:50 AM on Friday, September 14 in Southwind Nursing and Rehab Center in Crowley, LA.
Msgr. Jefferson Deblanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Mass and burial will take place in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.
Linda, a resident of Church Point, was the daughter of the late Mr. Melvin Richard and the former Hilda Brasseaux.
She is survived by her mother, Hilda B. Richard of Church Point; one daughter, Tammy Carriere and husband Tommy of Mire, LA; one son, Scott Lafleur and wife Brandi of Church Point; five grandchildren, Taylor and Matthew Lafleur and Trevor, Tori and Tyler Carriere; her Godchild, Brandon Clay Johnson and a great nephew, Braylon Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Richard; her husband, Efford Michael Lafleur; one sister, Robin Johnson and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Brasseaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Friday, September 14 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Friday evening in the funeral home.

Tammy would like to extend a sincere heart filled thanks and love to her work family at LGMC, the staff of her case management department, her 3rd floor cardiology family, and her peer medical staff, especially the hospitalists group, for each of their deep concern for her and her mother on an ongoing daily basis, through the 3 year journey, and a special mention to Dr. Julio Castro, for always filling her mother with loads of laughter when she was inpatient there , including Dr. James Dobbs, cardiologist, for all of his personal kindness, love, medical care, and his special personal emotional support he gave to her mother and herself, always just a phone call away."
