Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, La. for Leroy "Neg" Richard, 83. Mr. Richard, a native of Sunset, La. and long-time resident of Higginbotham, La., died at 7:50 P.M. Tuesday, July 16 at Acadia-St Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Father Stephen Ugwu will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce LeJeune Richard of Higginbotham; two sons, Terry Richard and wife Becky and Nolan Bellard-all of Sunset, La.; four daughters: Brenda Huba and husband Al of Clearview, Fla., Linda Blanchard of Church Point, Barbara Boone and husband Charles of Richard, La. and Cheryl Broussard and husband Andre of Carencro, La.; two brothers, Lloyd Richard and wife Rose of Sunset and Andrew Richard and wife Mary of Eunice, La.; two sisters, Virgie Arnold and Verna Leger of Sunset; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isadore and Clothilde Leger Richard; two daughters, Ramona Richard and Verlie Benoit and two sisters, Lawrence and Hazel Thibodeaux.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 17 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Thursday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday by Father Ugwu

A heavy equipment operator for many years, Mr. Richard was a former "Capitaine" of the Saddle Tramps Riding Club.
