Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at11:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Leroy Anthony Burleigh, 87. Mr. Burleigh, a native of Cankton, LA and resident of St. Martin Parish near Breaux Bridge, LA, passed away Thursday morning, June 30 at his residence. Rev. Father Brian Harrington, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and entombment will be in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

He is survived by his son and daughter, Ricky Burleigh and wife Theresa of Breaux Bridge and Debra Miller and husband John Allen Miller of Scott, LA and his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine and Euranie Sonnier Burleigh; his wife, Virginia Johnson Burleigh and his sisters, Eva Dale LeBouef Andrepont and Gussie Burleigh Courville.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, July1 and continue from 8:00 AM Saturday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM Friday by Deacon Byrne Winn. The manager of Fontenot and Guidry Department Store in Breaux Bridge for some fifty years; Mr. Burleigh was a past president of the Breaux Bridge Merchants Association, past president of the Breaux Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council of Breaux Bridge (where he was Knight of the Year in 1970) and a member of the Holy Name Society of Breaux Bridge.
