Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday; September 17, 2007 at St. Edward's Catholic Church; Richard, La. for Leopold Lavergne who died at his residence on Saturday September 15, 2007 at 4:35 P.M. The deceased was a native of Church Point. Father Arthur Warren will conduct the services and interment will be in St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery.
Survivors include his spouse, Anna Mae Richard Lavergne; three daughters: Barbara Daigle and husband Gary of Church Point, La. and Vicky Lejeune and husband Lerlin and Debra Babineaux and husband John-all of Richard, La.; two brothers: Shelby Lavergne of Lubbock, Texas and Nubern Lavergne of Sulphur, La.; two sisters: Ella Mae Romain of Branch, La. and Amythe Winn of Eunice, La.; seven grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
Mr. Lavergne was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Doreen Clavier Lavergne; a sister, Joyce Miller and a brother, Irby Lavergne.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Sunday; September 16, 2007 and continue on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00 P.M.
Mr. Lavergne worked at Meche's Pharmacy and O'Reilly Auto Parts in Rayne, La; and was a 4th Degree member of the Charlene Richard Knights of Columbus Council in Richard, La. The family wishes to thank Heart Hospice of Scott, La. and a special friend, Amy Guidry, for the special care given Mr. Lavergne.
