Church Point, LA:   Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point, LA for Mr. Leo Russell Harmon III, 80, who passed away at 4:50 PM Saturday, January 22 at Opelousas General Medical Center in Opelousas, LA. Rev. James Faulk, Pastor of United Methodist Church of Church Point, will conduct the funeral services and burial will take place in the United Methodist Church Cemetery in Church Point.

Russell, a life-long resident of Church Point, was the son of the late Leo Russell Harmon Jr. and the former Stella Israel.  A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; he was a cattleman, auctioneer and Deacon and Treasurer of the United Methodist Church here in Church Point. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jo Ann Smith Harmon of Church Point; four daughters: Leigh Ann Kirkpatrick and husband Casey of Church Point, Sharon Johnson and husband Mickey of Basile, LA, Ellen Malnerich and husband Joe of Bristol, RI and Angie Fontenot of Providence, RI; twelve grandchildren: Rusty and Kyle Kirkpatrick, Annie Venable, Katherine Faul, Lance, Matthew, Morgan and John Ross Johnson, Hayden and Alexis Malnerich and Christopher and Adley Fontenot; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one sister, Sue Hanley of Rayne, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 25, from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 3:00 PM.
