Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Joseph Leo "Poopy" Briscoe, 75. Mr. Briscoe, a native and life-long resident of Church Point, died Wednesday morning, February 5 at his residence. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Highway 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include a sister, Theresa Latiolais of Church Point; his nephews, Jason and Lance Latiolais and Mitchell, Chad and David Briscoe; his nieces, Tanya Lazarus and husband Clifford and Melissa and Susan Briscoe and his grandnieces, Alexa and Faith Lazarus and Avery Latiolais.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce and Ada Olivier Briscoe and a brother, Kernice Briscoe.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Friday, February 7 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Saturday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday by Monsignor DeBlanc.
