Church Point, La. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 25, 2010 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Church Point for Mrs. Lena Doucet, 83, the former Lena Henry. Mrs. Doucet, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died at 11:20 A.M. Friday, October 22 at Lafayette General Medical Center; Lafayette, La. Father Brad Guillory will conduct the services with entombment following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Highway 35 north of Church Point.
Survivors include a son Ronnie Doucet and wife Ginger of Lafayette; two daughters, Jenny Domingue of Church Point and Mary Lynn Patin and husband Keith of Scott, La.; a sister, Ms. Gladys Henry of Church Point; five grandchildren: Damian and Matthew Doucet of Lafayette, Ben Domingue and wife Dana of Grand Coteau, La. and Kyle and Kelsey Patin of Scott and two great-grandchildren, Abby and Luke Domingue of Grand Coteau. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton Doucet; her parents, Ivy and Emily Lejeune Henry; a sister, Ola Cormier and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Doucet.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 24 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary by Father Brad Guillory will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday.
Before retirement, Mrs. Doucet worked as a bookkeeper at David's Department Store and as a receptionist for Dr. Ward Bellard, M.D. in Church Point. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Rectory Volunteers of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
