Obituary

Lafayette, LA Funeral services will be held at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Church on Saturday, February 17, 2018 for Lee Allen "Mickey" LeJeune, 84, who passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 surrounded by the people who mattered most in his life.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by the Funeral Mass.
Mickey, a resident of Lafayette, was born January 26, 1934, and raised in Iota, LA. He was the son of the late Mark T. and Lucy Pousson LeJeune. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War where he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard. It was in the Navy that he learned his lifelong trade of being a machinist.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine Seilhan LeJeune of Lafayette; three daughters and son-in-laws, Pauline L. & Calvin Leger, Karren L. & Tommy Hays, and Regina L. & Kert Thomas; seven grandchildren, Cory Leger, Nicole L. Michaud and husband D.J., Alex Hays, Sawyer Hays, Alexis & Logan Thomas, and Kori Robinson; four great grandchildren, Warren, Saige, Fisher, & Mila and his beloved dog Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Esther Zuckerman and Altha Launey, and one brother Hub LeJeune.
The family would like to thank his 7th floor & ICU nurses at LGMC. Also, Keith Seilhan & Leonard Launey, thank you for the love & time you spent with Uncle Mickey during his illness.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Howard Blessing. Music will be provided by Lee Seilhan on organ, Pat Campbell on accordion, and Calvin Leger on trumpet. Johnny Hays will represent the US Navy. Interment will be at Fountain Memorial Cemetery.
