Church Point, LA:         A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Leberta "Toot" Comeaux, 95, the former Leberta Ann Venable. Mrs. Comeaux, a long-time resident of rural Acadia Parish near Church Point, passed away Thursday afternoon at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, LA. Rev. Father Pére Rozas, parochial vicar of the church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the entombment in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.
She is survived by three sons, Terry "Buddy" Comeaux and wife Sandra and Gene Comeaux and wife Mary-all of Rayne, La and Tommy Comeaux and wife Maggie of Church Point; a daughter, Carolyn Matt of Church Point; a brother, James Bert Venable and wife Mary Lee of Church Point; a sister, Earline Daigle of Lake Arthur, LA; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carol Comeaux; her parents, Davis and Lorena Johnson Venable; a sister, Gertrude Savoy and brother-in-law, Vincent Savoy; a brother-in-law, Bert Daigle and a son-in-law, Bob Matt.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the time of services on Saturday. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 12 Noon by Pére Rozas. A faithful volunteer at St. Joseph House of Care for some twenty-three years, Mrs. Comeaux was loved and will be missed by her extended family and friends.
